Tasting Note: Montes was started by four partners, Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Pedro Grand and Alfredo Vidaurre, who firmly believe that there is a niche for Chilean premium wines. Together they own over 425 acres of mature vines in the Curico Valley. Their aim is to make super premium wines from Chile, using the best grapes, modern equipment, the latest technology and new American and French oak barrels.
"Aromas of earth, bacon fat and toasty oak lead the wine toward a snappy, young palate that pours on the red fruit, spice and tannins. The finish, however, is a bit more complex, as vanilla cookies and cocoa do an attractive little dance." (Wine Enthusiast: Score-88)
